Salaam all, hows it going?
i'm not exactly sure who's reading this.. but you rock for just stopping by. well im still in my hiatus status in terms of being a blogger-- but i needed to post something quick after i was recognized oh so nicely by a fellow blogger-- an apprentice of sorts. ah well, ok i wasn't that inspirational, but its nice to be thought of in such nice terms passingly. so thanks for that! you know who you are. and who knows, maybe ill be back in blogger land (aka blogistan) some time soon.. but don't hold your breath :-)

and well life goes on... and alhamdulilah i wouldn't want it any other way.

a dua to be thankful for everything: Allah Humma Lakal Hamd Walaka Shukr

closed chapter

requires an explanation? maybe not. but ill be brief. i enjoyed the blogging ride, but it's just not my thing anymore. i guess it's a variety of reasons, but really about time issues. when i do get free time from school work, i'd rather spend it learning more about islam, watching tv, listening to music, talking to my friends, emailing my friends, etc. so this isn't on the top of my list anymore. im leaving my template here.. but farewell to blogistan and bloggers for the time being.

hiatus

isnt that a cool word in itself? an interruption in time or continuity : BREAK

yea so i'm going to take a break from this whole blogging/ visting blogs bit.. strip me of my blogistan citizenship if you want. i guess i just want a break.. a change of routine of sorts. and its ironic b/c during the school year, the time is so tight and when you can't blog or don't want to, that serves as the model excuse. but what about now? like during my break-- no school. sigh. those two words together are just sooo sweet. but yea i definitely have time for blogging and visting blogs If i so desire. but i don't. its all good. hard to explain. it does come down to what you want your time to be composed of.. and these days my time is filling up nicely, with all these random stuff.

work on my webpage.. even if doesn't really get me anywhere
listen to sports radio.. keeping up with the yankees, baseball in general
take naps when i want to
read and sort through all these islamic emails
read the quran and take notes moreso
reply to emails
have interesting convo's on IM
watch tv.. reruns of the practice, the amazing race, oprah sometimes, ill find something good to watch. eh
eat breakfast without rushing
talk to my ammi
run random errands
pulls weeds/clean the garden
talk to my friends
read books
write (my long post for the junoon.com forum board about the documentary-- the rock star and the mullah)
maybe pick up my guitar.. learn some chords
surf webpages
get up-to-date with the news
learn

ok yea well the above list is more than my time can handle.. but you get the gist. so yo, don't get me wrong. im not out of the cyber world. not for a long shot. my DSL and i joined at the hip. just want to take a break from blogistan. so insha'Allah see you around in cyberworld. im out. salaam.

muslim comedians

i first heard about them not too long ago. Saad Sarwana calls himself Pakistan's #1 Standup Comedian. There's some hilarious stuff on his website.

and then there's Shazia Mirza -- yay a female :)

and check out this brother dude, Azhar Usman. His appearance is such that most people would never realize he would be the next act on stage.. but yo things are changing!.. you can totally keep your muslim identity in this day and age and mold yourselves around that. and that's what they are doing. alhamdulillah. this is sort of off topic, but it's like once when someone said to me how they couldn't pray Asr salat because it was at such a time and was conflicting with their work sked, etc ... so all i said was that i plan my day around my salat times.. and insha'Allah may Allah (swt) all give us the iman to always have that time to praise His greatness.

anyways, i personally think the whole concept of muslim comics is an awesome idea... I deem humor too be a really important quality.. right after honesty, integrity, and morality.

smile. its sunnah.

What is LIfe?

i really liked this poem.. i was young when i saw it lying around at home.. and so i transcribed it. if you look at it from an islamic perspective, it totally makes sense in each thing...

What is Life ?

Life is a Challenge – meet it.
Life is a Struggle – accept it.
Life is a Sorrow – overcome it.
Life is a Mystery – unfold it.
Life is a Tragedy – face it.
Life is a Joy – spread it.
Life is a Love – love it.
Life is a Duty – perform it.
Life is a Romance – enjoy it.
Life is a Gamble – watch it.
Life is a Song – sing it.
Life is a Bliss – embrace it.
Life is a Game - -play it.
Life is a Dream – realize it.
Life is a Journey – complete it.
Life is a Promise – fulfill it.

Life is a God’s gift – cherish it.

------
Whatever you are given is but for the enjoyment of life in this world, whereas that which is with God is far better and more enduring.

quranic ayah

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His
Light is as (if there were) a niche and within it a lamp, the lamp
is in glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a
blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east (i.e. neither it gets
sun-rays only in the morning) nor of the west (i.e. nor it gets sun-
rays only in the afternoon, but it is exposed to the sun all day
long), whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself), though no fire
touched it. Light upon Light! Allah guides to His Light whom He
wills. And Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-
Knower of everything.

Surah An-Nur (24) Ayah 35
